Part of my dream came true in the most unexpected way

Sia-lucky-draw

Receiving my prize!

Back in August 2012, I participated in a Singapore Airlines (SIA) lucky draw. Having won a couple of such sweepstakes in the past, I couldn’t help but naively think that lady luck might favour me a little more when it comes to this. And that belief was further confirmed when I won the third prize in the aforementioned lucky draw. Continue reading

Gazebo at Hoan Kiem Lake, Old Quarter

Hanoi, the modern capital of Vietnam, often struck me as an unattractive and unpopular city. I hadn’t heard much about this place because it’s not one of those destinations people around me would buzz about. Most of my friends and myself, when we think about Vietnam, we think about Ho Chi Minh City. And this ignorance of ours would have led us to further condemnation if it wasn’t for Ha Long Bay and its recent recognition as one of the wonders of the natural world. Continue reading
